Please join the EDGES team in congratulating Leila Harris, who was promoted to Associate Professor at the Institute for Resources Environment and Sustainability  and the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice, effective July 1, 2013. Having received her PhD degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Geography with a minor in Development Studies and Social Change, Leila was an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin until joining UBC in January 2010.  Leila has an excellent publication record having published 17 peer reviewed articles, and numerous peer reviewed book chapters. She has also co-edited a book, published with Routledge in May 2013. Since joining UBC Leila has taught or co-taught 2 undergraduate and 5 graduate courses receiving very favorable evaluations.
