UPCOMING TALK: DACOTAH SPLICHALOVA AT UBC’S FIREtalk EVENT

On November 27th from 4-6pm, EDGES member Dacotah-Victoria Splichalova will speak as part of a UBC FIREtalk event in the UBC Library Research Commons (Koerner Library floor 5). A FIREtalk event focuses on a specific theme and consists of three brief (approximately 10 minutes) presentations by UBC graduate students from different disciplines, followed by a period for questions and discussion. Audience participants with similar research backgrounds can also give a short summary of their research to further contribute to the discussion and offer perspectives from alternative or related disciplines from those of the speakers. Following the commencement of the formal presentations and audience-guided discussion, there will be a social gathering with snacks, allowing attendees to network with other graduate students from related fields.

This is the first of the newly re-launched FIREtalks to be offered and takes place around the theme of drinking water. The event page can be found here if you would like to register to attend.
