Welcome to Lucy Rodina, Megan Peloso, and Phil Torio!

Lucy is a Masters student, working on water governance in Cape Town, South Africa. With a specific focus on informal settlements, Lucy will be investigating the mechanisms of public engagement related to water governance and how the human right to water is invoked in daily and political negotiations of water access.

Megan is a Masters student coming from Ottawa, Ontario. The focus of her thesis research is on community water access and governance in urban informal settlements in the Accra Metropolitan Area (AMA) of Ghana, where she plans to conduct fieldwork in the summer of 2012.  Megan holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honors in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa.

Phil Torio is a PhD student, studying issues of equity and poverty related to Manila’s water privatization with a focus on data collection and the use of new instruments to attend to concerns of poor and marginal populations. Phil has earned MA degrees at Harvard University and the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining our team, Phil has worked extensively on a range of issues related to water services in Metro Manila.
